Ali MacQueen writes anthemic songs with a non-linear twist, and is backed by musicians from the east London band, Half Pony
He's released 3 tracks through independent label, Blagger’s Records “Loretto”, “One of These Days” and “Lost in the Middle”, all of which have had support from BBC Radio Glasgow, Gary Crowley's BBC Radio London show and Honor Morrison's BBC Introducing. Tour support slots for Echobelly and The Boo Radleys were a hoot, which was followed by the release of mid-90s dance tinged “Elevate” on Stone Cold Classic records with Ultra Music producer Happy Cat Jay. Ali and Half Pony have back in the studio this year recording three tracks, one of which is set to be released in early 2027. Ali wil lbe finishing the year by joining the Stone Cold Classic records tour for its Norwich and Brighton dates in November and London Koko on December 18th.
Absent Heart
'Absent Heart are four hims and a her forged in the sonic shadows of North London’s rock’n’roll underbelly. Fronted by Sarah’s fierce, emotive vocals, the band blends melody, menace and raw energy through Trystan stirs melody with menace and grace complimented by Tom on rhythm guitar, while Stephen anchors the storm on bass, weaving in harmonies that haunt, finally melded together by Mica’s frenetic drumming and percussion.
Drawing from rock, alt-rock and classic rock, Absent Heart refuses easy labels. Their songs explore love, rage and the strange space in-between, tackling everything from anti-capitalism to zombies and waterboarding.
Every live show is visceral, unpredictable and alive. With access to their own recording studio, the band recently released their debut 3-track EP, ‘The Taste’. featuring the stomping “Midnight”, Blood & Sugar” about Epstein and “Tell Me Your Name”. Nationwide gigs and more releases are planned for 2026 — and Absent Heart are only just getting started!'
